Clairet

The clairet is a typical Bordeaux wine made from the red grape varieties merlot, cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc. Not completely rosé, not yet red, the clairet is generally made from the bleeding of vats of red following a long pre-fermentation maceration (2 to 4 days). The sustained robe of the clairet, its aromas of raspberry and other red fruits and its low tannin content make it a wine that can satisfy both the uninitiated and the demanding connoisseur.
